Prior to yesterday game the Brewers made another series of roster moves. They made a total of six transactions, adding three players to the team while taking three off the active roster https://www.milwaukeefanstoreonline.com/Josh_Lindblom_Pillow_Cover-241. Just a few moves by Brewers today: LHP Brett Anderson on 10-day IL, RHP Miguel Sanchez selected from Nashville, LHP Hoby Milner optioned to Nashville, OF Tyrone Taylor activated from 10-day IL, OF Derek Fisher DFA'd, RHP Ryan Weber recalled from Nashville. The catalyst to these moves was the injury to Brett Anderson, who left Monday game with a knee injury. As expected, he was placed on the 10-day IL yesterday, taking him out for at least one start. The full severity of the injury is still unknown, but the Brewers will get more information on Thursday when Anderson will see team doctor Raasch in Milwaukee https://www.milwaukeefanstoreonline.com/Rob_Deer_Face_Mask-310. To replace Brett Anderson, the Brewers decided to bring up two pitchers. They selected the contract of RHP Miguel Sanchez, and also recalled RHP Ryan Weber from Nashville. These two pitchers will be the 49th and 50th players on the Brewers roster this season, second most in the majors (Seattle has used 51 players). Sanchez pitched yesterday and made his MLB debut, walking one batter in a scoreless inning. In Nashville this season, he has posted a 3. 22 ERA over 22. 1 innings, with 22 strikeouts and 9 walks. Meanwhile, Weber was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox on June 16. His pitched for Boston earlier this season and got roughed up, allowing 11 runs in just 5. 2 innings of work. Over his career in the majors, he has a 5. 30 ERA spanning seven seasons. The Brewers also had to clear a 40-man roster spot for Sanchez, so they did that by designating Derek Fisher for assignment. Fisher appeared in just four games since his return from injury, making one start. He went 2-for-8 in those four games. The Brewers will now try to get him through waivers to see if they can keep him in the organization. At the same time, they brought back another outfielder, activating Tyrone Taylor from the 10-day IL Paul Molitor Pet Jersey. Taylor went on the IL on June 12 with a right shoulder strain, so he is back after missing the minimum 10 days for an IL stint. So far this season, Taylor is hitting . 216/. 310/. 344 in 38 games, with 6 home runs and 15 RBI. That also required another roster move, so Hoby Milner was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville. Milner appeared in eight games since being recalled, and he allowed eight runs (six earned) in 8. 2 innings pitched since his return. The strikeout to walk ratio was nice (11 K to 1 BB), but the results weren there. Hel head back to Nashville for now to get more work. Finally, one more roster move was finalized yesterday. Jake Hager, who was designated for assignment on Friday https://www.milwaukeefanstoreonline.com/Dylan_File_Face_Mask-198, was claimed off of waivers by Seattle. Hager had been playing in Nashville and went 15-for-71 in 18 games for the Sounds. Unfortunately, the roster moves are not done yet. Following Daniel Vogelbach hamstring injury yesterday, another roster move will be coming today. Statistics courtesy of Baseball-Reference.
